What is Offentliga Rummet?

Offentliga Rummet is an annual conference examining how government authorities, county councils, regions and local authorities can improve accessibility and broaden citizen participation in the public sector, both with the help of new technology and by starting to think along new lines.

A forum Offentliga Rummet is a forum for elected representatives, operations and business developers, press and PR officers, IT strategists and other people committed to promoting broader, more transparent public administration. Offentliga Rummet also addresses the issue of how IT can pave the way for a robust, more dynamic democratic dialogue. At Offentliga Rummet, participants gain a broader understanding and deeper insights, and can both listen and discuss.

Practical experience The programme focuses on functional applications rather than on visions. Seminars, demonstrations and talks deal not only with practical experience but also with current technological developments, changes in regulations, new forms of cooperation and national strategies. Also in the spotlight is how the new technology can be used both to develop a collaborative administration with few points of contact for the citizens and to boost the efficiency of public administrations.
The conference will kick off with a networking day on 2nd June. During the following two days, visitors will be able to broaden their knowledge and catch up on topical issues at the seminars. Concurrently with the conference there will also be a trade fair at which some of the most interesting new technology will be on show.
